How To Get A Silo In Stardew Valley

TIL That you only need one silo for storage

If there's a hay spot missing in one of your coops/barns then you can pull out infinite amounts of hay to store in chests. This only works if there is an empty spot as the game thinks that you are allowed to pull out more hay to fill that one spot. :P Hopefully this saves everyone a bit of cash and space on their farm!

level 1

You can only pull out as much as what's in the silo. 1 Silo holds 250. If you get more silos, then the storage size doubles.

level 2

Actually, one silo hold 240. And the you can always just cut more grass to fill it back up and take them out again.

level 1

OP puts it strangely, think what he's trying to say is, you can just build 1 silo and store extra hay in chests to save up some space since silos are pretty damn huge and obstruct alot of the "scenery"

However, you will need to have an unupgraded coop/barn or you won't be able to take hay out from the silo

level 2

And if you do have a non-upgraded coop or barn that you use for storage (no animals) and plan to use that, just wait until your spouse helpfully "feeds the animals" for you and fills those up. You can transfer animals over to eat the hay, but it's a bit obnoxious.

level 1

You can only do this if you don't have a fully upgraded coop/barn. After that then it's automated and you can never take stuff out.
